چکیده

The Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) plans to start operation at a center-of-mass energy of 380 GeV. This paper reports on various optimizations the CLIC 380-GeV Final Focus System (FFS). Analytical approximations have been used guide numerical optimizations. first optimization consists reduction vertical beta function interaction point $70\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{\ensuremath{\mu}}\mathrm{m}$, which is limit hourglass effect. second focuses minimizing lengths final doublet quadrupoles reduce chromaticity. third searched for alternative optics configurations, resulting in implementation novel dispersion profile along FFS. boosts both total and peak luminosities by 7% 9%, respectively.

A Final Focus System for the Next Linear Collider

The final focus of the Next Linear Collider (NLC) demagnifies electron and positron beams of 250–750 GeV energy down to a transverse size of about 2.5 × 350 nm at the interaction point (IP). The basic layout, momentum bandwidth, vibration tolerances, wakefield effects, and the tunability of the proposed final focus design are discussed. Also a perspective is given on the crab cavity and on effe...

Next-generation Linear Collider Final Focus System Stability Tolerances*

The design of final focus systems for the next generation of linear colliders has evolved largely from the experience gained with the design and operation of the Stanford Linear Collider (SLC) and with the design of the Final Focus Test Beam (FFTB). We will compare the tolerances for two typical designs for a next-generation linear collider final focus system. The chromaticity generated by stro...

Expanded Studies of Linear Collider Final Focus Systems at the Final Focus Test Beam

In order to meet their luminosity goals, linear colliders operating in the center-of-mass energy range from 350 to 1,500 GeV will need to deliver beams which are as small as a few nanometers tall, with x:y aspect ratios as large as 100. The Final Focus Test Beam (FFTB) is a prototype for the final focus demanded by these colliders: its purpose is to provide demagnifications equivalent to those ...

Final Focus System for a Muon Collider: A Test Model

The present scenario for a high luminosity 4 TeV on center of mass muon collider requires a beta function β ≈ 3mm at the interaction point. We discuss a test model of a basic layout which satisfies the requirements although it is not fully realistic.

The compact linear collider CLIC

A high luminosity 1034–1035 cm−2 s−1 electron–positron Collider (CLIC) with a nominal centre-of-mass energy of 3 TeV is being studied since a number of years at CERN within an international collaboration of laboratories and institutes to provide the HEP community with a new accelerator-based facility for the post-LHC era. In order to achieve the very high design luminosity, very low emittance b...
